Hanna Jubran & Jodi Hollnagel
|
Two acclaimed sculptors. Two artistic styles. One explosive blend of talent to create the much-heralded "Monument to a Century of Flight" — an ascending orbit of 14 wing-shaped pylons with black granite reliefs depicting a century of aviation and centered with a bronze dome detailing the Earth’s continents. The Monument now stands at the Kitty Hawk Visitor’s Center. Hanna Jubran and Jodi Hollnagel, its sculptors, continue to create in their Pitt County studio, teach at East Carolina University, and exhibit works of art locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
The works of Jubran and Hollnagel can be found around the world. But the husband and wife team has found a comfortable creative base in Greenville. The couple finds inspiration in the temperate climate. They are involved in the thriving art scene, and exhibit extensively in a community they believe is expanding in its cultural connections. Their Pitt County showings lend a valuable "first reaction" to their works.
"This is our home. I want to create an interaction between the art community and the public. We’re always traveling to international exhibitions. We take Pitt County with us all over. We are ambassadors of this community, of the arts, and of the United States."
